Herbal Creations is a natural products manufacturing business which began in Redwood Valley, near Nelson, New Zealand. Herbalist and Aromatherapist Karen Malone began the business in May 2000 as a herbal medicines manufacturing dispensary producing herbal tinctures by cold percolation and maceration. These were supplied, along with NZ native, Ayurvedic & Chinese tinctures, dried herbs, essential oils, and herb/tincture prescriptions to practitioners, dispensaries, health shops & pharmacies around New Zealand and internationally.

In September 2003, we changed our direction to focus on natural bodycare and aromatherapy products, including Magic Kiss herbal healing balm for children, the Violet Green range of herbal healing and massage balms and AromaSong aromatherapy products, which we supply direct to the public via mail-order. All of our products were created by Karen, who is passionate about using only the purest of ingredients.

The business moved to Gisborne at the end of 2004 and the retail premises Cleopatra's Apothecary was opened in April 2005.

Herbalist & Aromatherapist, Karen Malone started the company after working in the herbal industry. She has a Bachelor of Science in Zoology (1994), a Herbal Diploma (1998) and a Diploma in Aromatherapy (2004), both from the Australasian College of Herbal Studies. She also has had technical and managerial roles in many areas including microbiology, biology, marine science, chemistry, biochemistry, herbal tincture testing & production and natural products development. 

Computer support & web development is through Shaun Johnston of Bays Technologies, Tauranga. And our Graphic Designer is Abbie Gifford of Signz n Graphix, Nelson.

UPDATE 2006

As of February 2006, Herbal Creations has a new owner. Natasha Robinson of Gisborne, New Zealand.

Natasha is currently studying Herbs with the Australasian College of Herbal Studies.

Karen is now working as a Natural Therapist, as well as running Natural Health workshops with Inspire Natural Therapies in Tauranga, New Zealand.
